My grandmother was a bold young lady, who ran away from Poland with a girl friend at the tender age of 14. Family rumor has it that she ran a speakeasy during the Depression. Grandma's birth name was Karolyna Segin and she is my namesake. Grandma loved sweets, and although I'm sure she cooked meals for me, I can't seem to remember them. But I do remember all the cakes, pies and goodies she made. Guess that's where I got my sweet tooth.
